Members of staff of the two units comprise of two consultant psychiatrists, two to three psychiatry residents, the nursing staff who function also as co-therapists, multiple psychologists, as well as a social worker, exercise therapist and ergotherapist. The entire team speaks fluent english, thus enabling holistic care for international and non-german-speaking patients.

Our treatment consists of a holistic care plan which begins by taking the severity and type of the individual’s symptoms into consideration and discussing the illness and treatment options with the patient.
For patients with depression, we have implemented an individualized treatment program including pharmacotherapy, cognitive behavioural group therapy, individual psychotherapeutic interventions, psychoeducational courses, group activities, ergotherapy, sports and physiotherapy as well as a variety of ancillary treatment options e.g. meditation and relaxation techniques. All therapies are available to inpatients, outpatients and patients in our day clinic.
Our psychotherapeutic treatment options consist of psychoeducation groups, multiple psychotherapeutic small-groups with an emphasis on depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and medical and psychological individual therapy. All of our therapies are based on cognitive behavioural therapeutic concepts, whereby individual stress-factors such as partnership conflicts or financial difficulties are alleviated through education, exploration and problem solving techniques.
Apart from modern antidepressants, mood stabilisers and supportive medications, sleep-withdrawal and light therapy are also implemented. Brain stimulation techniques (electro-convulsive therapie, transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimuation, deep brain stimulation) are also offered. Manic disorders are innovated treated, often in the context of a study.
Our nursing team operates in the model of supportive care, in which nurses constantly support patients during their admission, „standing at their side“ so to speak. They encourages and aids the patients, helping them to plan their weekly therapies. Furthermore, the nursing team often leads or co-leads many of the group therapies on offer in the department, such as the culture, literature, sport, relaxation and concentration-training groups.
