The Department of Adult Psychiatry offers comprehensive programs for clinical research, teaching and treatment for adults suffering from psychiatric diseases. The department comprises five modules: Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, Personality Disorders, Psychiatry of Old Age and Integrative Psychiatry. Each of these sections has an integrated program, combining state of the art care for patients with up to date research, both aimed at the development of enhanced treatment strategies and basic neurobiological research of psychiatric diseases.
The modules provide treatment for patients suffering from a new onset of a disease, or who seek consultation about a diagnosis or treatment plan. In addition to excellent conventional care, patients may participate in clinical research projects that are aimed at enhancing our basic understanding of the causes of mental illness, or the development of new treatments.
The psychiatric hospital also provides a range of clinical and research training programs aimed at developing the next generation of clinical researchers.
